Ryszard Latecki
Ryszard Latecki (* 1956 ) is a Polish multi-instrumentalist ( trumpet , harmonium , percussion , also piano, “latar” and other “pseudo- instruments ”), improvisation musician and composer.
Act
Latecki studied at the Polygraphic Institute of Politechnika Warszawska and worked on Polish underground magazines in the 1980s. In 1990 he worked in the USA for a year; afterwards he was one of the directors of the Polish Film Foundation publishing house and responsible for the design of the magazine Kino . With Michał Tarkowski and Jacek Kleyff he produced several music videos in the 1990s ( Stalowe Marzenie , Mam Ducha, Duch Ma Mnie , Na Sześć, etc.)
Latecki developed the concept of "reverse music" ("Muzyka Rewersyjna"), according to which noises can be consciously subtracted during musical developments in order to create musical forms. He plays improvisation music, which has its sources in classical and contemporary music, jazz and ethnic music . He works with Jerzy Kornowicz , Tadeusz Wielecki , Krzysztof Knittel and Tadeusz Sudnik in the group Kawalerowie błotni , which follows the concept of intuitive music ; As part of the WIOHA Jazz project, he plays with Włodzimierz Kiniorski , Mieczysław Litwiński , Tomasz Gwinciński , and Krzysztof Wrona . He works with the Warsaw Teatr Acedemia , where he organizes the annual "Neighbors for Neighbors" concert series.
Latecki is the author of music installations and performance works such as the Concert for Fried Eggs (performed at the Audio Art Festival 2003 in Warsaw), the Concert for Trumpet and Wire (2004) and the Concert for Trumpet and Dancer (with Ewelina Sojecka , 2004). He is the vice president of the Polish section of the International Society for Contemporary Music .
Prizes and awards
For his services to the preservation of independent cultural institutions in the 1980s, he was awarded the Order of Polonia Restituta .
