Sârbi or Sîrbi (outdated Sărbu-Valea Lungă ; German Raitzen , Hungarian Szirb or Tótfalu ) is a village in the Hunedoara district in Transylvania , Romania . It is part of the municipality of Ilia .

The village is located at an altitude of about 195 meters above sea level on the south side of the Apuseni Mountains .
history
Sârbi was first mentioned in 1484. The name of the village Sârbi is synonymous with the Romanian name for the Serbs .

Since the official survey of 1850, Sârbi has had its highest population in 1910. The highest population of Romanians (947) was registered in 1941, that of Germans, Hungarians and Roma (32) in 1910. Furthermore, in 1900 and 1930, one resident referred to himself as a Serb .
