Location and exhibits

The museum has been located at Wolfsthurn Castle near Mareit , a fraction of Ratschings in South Tyrol , since 1996 . It occupies the first floor of the main wing of the baroque building. In accordance with the institution's expanded cultural-historical approach, the exhibits include not only hunting and fishing utensils such as powder horns, hunting bags and hunting tools, but also snuff boxes, pipes and drinking glasses. The second floor is dedicated to the castle itself and its history. The state rooms with furniture, paintings and fabric wallpapers, elaborately painted with hunting motifs, have been preserved in their original Baroque state. The cellar rooms are dedicated to didactic purposes.
