Südwede is a district of the municipality Worpswede in the district of Osterholz in Lower Saxony .

history

Südwede was founded as part of the moor colonization of the Teufelsmoor in 1764. In 1789 it is stated that the place had nine houses and a hut in which 65 residents, including 42 children, lived. The 1871 census counted 110 residents in 16 residential buildings. In 1910 the place had 106 inhabitants.
