Today Heudorf is part of the community Worpswede in the district of Osterholz in Lower Saxony . The distance to Worpswede center is 10.8 km.

history

Heudorf was founded as part of the moor colonization of the Teufelsmoor in 1759. In 1789, it is stated that the place had 30 houses in which 172 people, including 112 children, lived. The 1871 census counted 261 residents in 41 residential buildings. In 1910 the place had 284 inhabitants.

In the database "Work commandos with Soviet prisoners of war in Northern Germany" Heudorf is listed as subcamp no. 33 of the main camp XB during the Nazi era , where the prisoners were housed under guard in a stone building within a farm and had to work in agriculture.
