The Süstedter Bach belongs to the river system of the Weser . With a length of a good 20 km, it flows exclusively in the Diepholz district ( Lower Saxony ) south of Bremen . It flows almost parallel to the northeast edge of the Syker Geest in a post-glacial channel of the Weser.

It rises in Süstedt ( joint municipality Bruchhausen-Vilsen ), then flows in a northerly direction east of Syke - Wachendorf , Gödestorf , Osterholz and Syke-Okel , at times as a border river to the joint municipality Thedinghausen , where the Blankenwaters Wiesengraben also joins. It then flows east of Weyhe -Sudweyhe and flows east of Weyhe-Kirchweyhe in Kirchweyher lake. From there it flows - together with the Hache - as an Ochtum to the Weser.

In Süstedt there is still a water mill ("Noltesche Mühle").
