The joint municipality of Bruchhausen-Vilsen is a joint municipality in the district of Diepholz in Lower Saxony . Four municipalities have come together in it to carry out their administrative business. The seat of the joint community is the climatic health resort of Bruchhausen-Vilsen .

history
The joint congregation was formed in 1974. More than 20 parishes were dissolved. The municipalities angels and Süstedt , which originally belonged to the joint community, were on November 1, 2011 and November 1, 2016 for each part of the newly formed borough Bruchhausen-Vilsen.

Joint council
The joint municipality council of the joint municipality of Bruchhausen-Vilsen consists of 32 council women and councilors. This is the specified number for a joint municipality with a population between 15,001 and 20,000. The 32 council members are elected for five years each by local elections. The current term of office began on November 1, 2011 and ends on October 31, 2016.
The full-time Mayor of the Joint Community, Bernd Bormann (non-party), is also entitled to vote in the Council of the Joint Community.

Joint mayor of the municipality
Bernd Bormann has been the full-time mayor of the municipality since November 1, 2014 . In the last mayoral election on May 25, 2014, he was elected unopposed with 85.7% of the vote. The turnout was 46.8%.

Culture and sights
Museum train
The German Railway Association has been operating a museum railway on an 8 km long narrow-gauge line to Asendorf since 1966 . The Asendorf Art Shed is located in a half-timbered shed at Asendorf train station .
