Süstedt ( Low German Sueste ) is a district of the borough Bruchhausen-Vilsen in Diepholz in Lower Saxony .

Due to the geestrand location , the landscape is very diverse. While the geestrand gives the landscape a hilly character, the flat meadows and breakland resemble a marshland . The renovated Noltesche watermill is the ideal starting point for long walking, hiking and cycling tours .
Like all the villages in the area, the village is shaped by its agricultural history. Even though today the majority of the inhabitants work in other, non-agricultural professions outside the village, the village character of Süstedt has been preserved.

On November 1, 2016, Süstedt was incorporated into the Bruchhausen-Vilsen area.

Buildings
- The Noltesche Mühle on Süstedter Bach was built as a grain mill in 1880 and three years later it was equipped with a turbine. In 1953 the commercial milling operation was stopped and the mill was used for private grist milling until 1996. In 1997 the mill became the property of the municipality of Süstedt and was restored in 1999. The turbine has been used to generate electricity since 1998.
Sons and daughters of the district
- The businessman and founder of what would later become the world's largest private sailing shipping company, Diedrich Heinrich Wätjen , was born in Ochtmannien in 1785.
- Julius Diedrich Helmerich Wätjen (1780–1832?), A German merchant (tobacco) and manufacturer (candles), comes from the same family .
- Gustav Nolte (1877–1924) was the city architect of Bozen .
- The NSDAP politician Friedrich Bolte (1896-1959) was born in Schaapsen (part of Ochtmannien) .
