Sălişte ( German Selischte or Großendorf , Hungarian Szelistye ) is a small town in the Sibiu district in Transylvania ( Romania ).
location
Sălişte is located about 20 kilometers west of the district capital Sibiu ( Hermannstadt ). In 2004 the central town of Mărginimea Sibiului was raised to the status of a city.
politics
Mayor is the national liberal Horațiu Dumitru Răcuciu. Sălişte had 15 council members in 2016, ten of whom belong to the PNL (National Liberal Party) , two each from the PSD (Social Democratic Party) and the PPU and one from the ALDE (Party of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats) .
