Club history

The club has its origins in the German SAEJ Schiltigheim . At the time of its founding, Schiltigheim was part of the German realm of Alsace-Lorraine , which was part of the German Empire . In 1915 the club was renamed FK Schiltigheim . After the First World War , FK Schiltigheim was dissolved and re-established under its current name.

With the occupation of France, in the Second World War , by German soldiers, SC Schiltigheim came into German gaming operations and took part in the Gauliga Alsace . There they played from 1941 to 1944. Before the end of the war, the club returned to French gaming. At the beginning of the 1945/46 season, SC Schiltigheim took part in the game operations of the Division d'Honneur . There they reached fifth place in the table in their first season. They played in the " DH " until 1954 , before being relegated in 1954. Two years later the direct ascent succeeded. This time it held the Strasbourg suburban club for nine years in the Division d'Honneur. In 1965 they then descended again. It was not until 20 years later that SC Schiltigheim rose again to the Division d'Honneur. After six years, the Alsatians rose to Division 4 to rise to National 2 in 1993 . There it held the SC Schiltigheim for four years before continuing to play in CFA 2 . In 2003 the club from Schiltigheim achieved their greatest success so far, when they could reach the quarter-finals in the French Football Cup ; on the way there, the Alsatians had eliminated three professional teams with Troyes , Beauvais and Toulouse . But then first division Stade Rennes could not be overcome. In the same year one rose to the CFA . The SC Schiltigheim only stayed there for four years and in 2007 had to be relegated to CFA 2. In 2008 he was passed through to the now sixth class, Division d'Honneur. In 2010 they rose again to CFA 2, in which the team also competes in 2016/17.
