SK Innovation ( Korean : SK 이노베이션 or 에스케이 이노베이션 , KRX : 096770) is a South Korean company that was spun off in 2011 from SK Energy, which was formed when the SK Corporation was split into a holding company and SK Energy on July 1, 2007 . SK Innovation is involved in the exploration and production of 29 oil-gas blocks in 16 nations worldwide. The company is also involved in LNG projects in Yemen , Peru , Oman and Ras Laffan (Qatar).
The subsidiaries of SK innovation include: SK energy, SK global chemical, SK lubricants, SK incheon petrochem, SK trading international.
history
On March 26, 2014, the company acquired 100% of the shares in E&P America, Inc.
The company is one of the pioneers in the field of separators (LiBSs) in South Korea and plans to set up two more production lines in South Korea. In the battery business, the company is already working with Kia Motors and Daimler-Benz .
Business areas
Business activities are the exploration, production and processing of oil and the management of the subsidiaries. Through its subsidiaries, the company is involved in the following business areas: crude oil extraction and related activities, petrochemicals, lubricants and fuels. The business branch oil recovery and related operations includes addition of petroleum exploration and the supply of lithium polymer batteries and lithium-ion rechargeable battery - separators (libss) . The petrochemicals division produces plastics , synthetic resins , aromatics ( benzene , toluene , xylene , and styrene ) and others. The lubricants branch produces and sells greases and lubricating oils. The petroleum branch produces unleaded petrol, kerosene, diesel and other oil products, takes care of the trade and storage of fuels and oils and operates truck stops.
