SM UC 9 was a submarine of the Imperial Navy of type UC , which in the First World War was used. At first it served as a school boat in Kiel , in September 1915 it was ordered to the U-Flotilla Flanders .

Calls

  • 1st company September 21 to September 23, 1915 - transfer from Kiel to Flanders
  • 2nd venture from October 20, 1915 - to the Thames estuary to lay mines near Long Sand

Whereabouts

UC 9 left Zeebrugge on October 20, 1915 to lay mines off the Thames estuary. The boat has been missing since then. The body of the crew member Karl Neuhaus was found by the British on November 12, 1915.
