SM UC 4 was a submarine of the Imperial Navy of type UC , which in the First World War was used. As a mine legend submarine, UC 4 helped set up the mine barriers in the North Sea. The mines that UC 4 laid on their 73 patrols sank at least 33 ships with 46,214 GRT

Whereabouts
After its last use, UC 4 had to go to the shipyard for engine repairs . The repair could not be finished in time and the boat was blown up on withdrawal on October 2, 1918 so as not to let the enemy fall into the hands of it.
Sinking successes
The exact successes of the sinking by the mines are difficult to verify, since no reports by the commanders can directly prove the sinking, so English sources speak of 36 sinkings.

It is unclear whether UC 4 was involved in the sinkings of the British Kent County submarine trap on December 8, 1916, the Giralda fishing trawler and the Eros mine trawler .
