The SV Blau-Weiß Spandau was a sports club from the Berlin district of Spandau .

The club was founded on August 10, 1903 as FT Spandau and later renamed the Sports Association Blau-Weiß Spandau in 1903 .

Handball

The SV Blau-Weiß Spandau was known nationwide for its handball department, whose men rose to the 2nd handball league in 1988 as champions of the Berlin Regionalliga . In 1991 HC Preußen Berlin , which had qualified second in the table for the 1st Bundesliga in the last season of the GDR handball league, joined SV Blau-Weiß. This made the Spandau the first club to play in one season in both the first division and the second division. At the end of the 1991/92 season , the first team rose from the 1st division. In 1994 the club changed its name to Blau-Weiß Köhrich Berlin , which meant that after OSC Thier Dortmundthe second handball second division with a sponsor name. From 1996, Blau-Weiß formed the HSG Blau-Weiß Spandau with the newly founded handball club Spandau 96, which played in the second division until the two clubs were dissolved in 2000. As a successor club, the handball friends Blau-Weiß Spandau were founded on February 20, 2000 , whose men play in the state league (2013/14 season).
