The SV Union Velbert 2011 eV is a large club in the popular sports area with, among other things, the departments football , table tennis , gymnastics , hiking and tennis . It was created in 2011 from a merger of the Velbert sports clubs "TuS Neviges " and "FC Tönisheide" .
history
The predecessor club TuS Neviges was founded in 1945, the FC Tönisheide led its existence back to 1913. Both clubs merged in 2011.
successes
The table tennis men reached the finals of the German Table Tennis Cup in 2012 . After defeating SV Plüderhausen with Torben Wosik , Aleksandar Karakašević and Philipp Floritz 3-0 in the quarter-finals , they only failed in the semi-finals at TTC Fulda-Maberzell 1: 3. Ovidiu Ionescu won the honor point against Patrick Franziska .
In 2011 the club had 22 youth soccer teams. The first team of the men's soccer team, whose home ground , Ernst-Adolf-Sckär-Platz, has artificial turf, plays in the Niederrhein district league, group 2, in the 2017/18 season.
