The Saab 9-7X was the first SUV from the Swedish car brand Saab . The car made its world premiere at the New York International Auto Show , which took place in April 2004. At the time, Saab wanted to be able to offer such a model due to the high demand for SUVs in the USA at the time .
The Saab 9-7X was built on the same GMT360 platform as the Chevrolet TrailBlazer and GMC Envoy from 2005 to late 2008 . It was available with a 4.2-liter straight-six or, in the top version, Aero, with a 6.0-liter eight-cylinder engine. Production was discontinued at the end of 2008 due to a lack of demand, but the vehicle was available for a longer time as a new car at prices of 42,000 to 49,000 US dollars due to overcapacity .
German Saab car dealers imported the 9-7X. The model was also officially sold in some European markets.
