The Sachsenberg is a mountain in the Odenwald and is located in the west of the Schloßau district on the western border of the municipality of Mudau in the Neckar-Odenwald district in Baden-Württemberg , only 1000 meters from the state border to Hesse , the south of it in the Galmbach and on its west side runs in the Itterbach . The Sachsenberg is completely forested.
The Sachsenberg is the summit of an approximately 1,300 meter long and narrow ridge that connects it to the north with the Hohwald ( 552.8 m above sea level ), on which the remains of the Neckar-Odenwald-Limes can be found. The Sachsenberg falls steeply on three sides into valleys that are more than 200 meters deep: to the west to the Itterbach , to the south to the Galmbach and to the southeast to the water bottom . These valleys are traffic arteries for regional road traffic.
