history

The first settlements in Schloßau existed around the year 100 AD in Roman times . In the vicinity of today's village, the Odenwald Limes with the castle of Schloßau was built. A bourgeois settlement is believed to have existed at this time, which was probably abandoned after the Romans withdrew around 250 AD.

"Slozzahe" was resettled and first mentioned in a document in the middle of the 11th century. When the name was given, the old Roman fort, which was probably still in good condition at the time, was included as a "castle" in the place name. In 1271 the village came to Kurmainz . Around the year 1570 one wrote the village name "Schlossig". In 1803 Schloßau was briefly transferred to the Principality of Leiningen and in 1806 to the Grand Duchy of Baden . Between January 1, 1936 and 1945, Waldauerbach and Mörschenhardt belonged to the municipality of Schloßau, after which Mörschenhardt became independent again. On January 1, 1975, Schloßau was incorporated into the Mudau community.
