Langenelz is a district of Mudau in the Neckar-Odenwald district in Baden-Württemberg .

geography

Langenelz is located in the Odenwald at about 450  m above sea level. NHN in the Elz Valley , south of Mudau. The village is divided into Ober-, Mittel- and Unterlangenelz. These sub-towns are slightly drawn apart and do not form a closed village. The village of Scheidental is located west of Langenelz up the valley . Laudenberg is located down the valley .

history

The place was named after the river Elz, which is still part of the place name today. In 1803 Langenelz came briefly to the Principality of Leiningen and in 1806 to the Grand Duchy of Baden . In 1936 Langenelz was incorporated into the Mudau community.
