Waldauerbach , also just called Auerbach , is a village in the Schloßau part of Mudau in the Neckar-Odenwald district in Baden-Württemberg .

geography

Waldauerbach is located in the Odenwald at around 520  m above sea level. NHN on the district road 3969 between Schloßau in the north and Scheidental in the south and about 3.5 km west-southwest of the central town of Mudau in the municipality. Waldauerbach stands near the watershed between the Neckar and the Main , because the water flowing northwards reaches the Main via the Mud , while the brooks running south, including the Eisengraben that separates a smaller eastern part of the settlement from the main part of the village , flow over the Elz to the Neckar.

Most of the houses in the village are located along the above-mentioned county road and on a residential road that crosses it. The village is surrounded by an almost closed forest ring.

history

"Walurbach" is documented for the first time in 1395. The place name only appears as "Auerbach" in the following centuries. The addition to the name "forest" was later reinserted to distinguish it from Auerbach bei Mosbach . In 1935 Waldauerbach was incorporated into Schloßau. On January 1, 1975, Schloßau was incorporated into the Mudau community.
