Zollhaus Sachsengrund

The settlement probably emerged from a hammer mill for the nearby iron stone pits. Elias Steiniger first appeared in a document in 1664 as the hammer lord of Rautenkranz and Sachsengrund. The place belonged to the Voigtsberg office until the middle of the 19th century . Several customs houses were built in the 1930s. However, the expansion of the place remained rather modest. During the time of National Socialist Germany there was a children's home in Sachsengrund, which was run by the NSDAP's “Office for People's Welfare” of the Gaus Sachsen .

Until September 30, 2009 Sachsengrund belonged to the independent municipality of Morgenröthe-Rautenkranz , since October 1, 2009 Sachsengrund belongs to the municipality of Muldenhammer .
