Sadik Mujkič

Sadik Mujkič (born February 29, 1968 in Jesenice ) is a former Slovenian rower who competed for Yugoslavia until 1990 . He won two Olympic bronze medals, one for Yugoslavia and one for Slovenia.

Athletic career

Sadik Mujkič won together with Sašo Mirjanič in two without a helmsman the title at the Junior World Championships in 1986. At the Olympic Games in 1988 he competed with Bojan Prešern in two without a helmsman and won the bronze medal behind the boats from the UK and Romania . The two finished sixth at the World Championships the following year . In 1990 Mujkič rowed at the world championships in the four-man without a helmsman and took seventh place.

After Slovenia's independence, Janez Klemenčič , Sašo Mirjanič, Milan Janša and Sadik Mujkič started in a four-man star for Slovenia at the 1992 Olympic Games . Behind the Australians and the US rowers, the Slovenes won the bronze medal. In 1993 Sadik Mujkič rowed in two with a helmsman and took seventh place at the World Championships . With the Slovenian four without a helmsman, Mujkič achieved fourth place at the World Championships in 1994 , and in 1995 the Slovenes took eighth place. At the 1996 Olympic Games , Denis Žvegelj , Klemenčič, Janša and Mujkič sat in the Slovenian foursome, which finished as the fourth boat behind the Australians, French and British. At the 1997 World Championships , the Slovenian four-man again finished fourth.
