Location of Sakolé in Niger

Sakolé (also: Sokolé ) is a village in the rural municipality of Tamaské in Niger .

The village, led by a traditional local chief ( chef traditionnel ), is located about three kilometers east of Tamaské, the capital of the rural community of the same name, which belongs to the Keita department in the Tahoua region. Another large village around Sakolé is around 14 km further west Bagueye . Sakolé is located in the north of the Ader Doutchi mountain range . To the west of the village, the valley of Sakolé, which runs in north-south direction, and the valley of Agouloum, which runs in east-west direction, meet. They are side valleys of the great valley of Keita . In the valleys of Sakolé and Agouloum there are sand dunes, which are silted up by wind drifts in the region.

At the 2012 census, Sakolé had 6,506 inhabitants who lived in 852 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 3,382 in 512 households, and at the 1988 census, the population was 2,971 in 402 households.

In Sakolé there is a secondary school with a Collège d'Enseignement Général (CEG). With a Center de Santé Intégré, the village has a health center, which in 2007 was responsible for over 14,000 people in the surrounding area.
