Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru ( Japanese 櫻子 さ ん の 足下 に は 死 体 が 埋 ま っ て い る , German: “A corpse is buried under Sakurako's feet”) is a detective novel by the author Shiori Ōta and the illustrator Tetsuo. In 2015, an anime adaptation by the Troyca studio was released in Japan.
content
The story takes place in Asahikawa in Hokkaidō and is about Sakurako Kujō ( 九 条 櫻子 ), a woman in her twenties who lives alone with a housekeeper in a mansion and is fascinated by bones and their history. On her bone excursions she is assisted by the high school student Shōtarō Tatewaki ( 館 脇 正 太郎 ) as an assistant, whereby they always come across human remains from crimes that the hobby osteologist and forensic scientist Sakurako solves while Shōtarō has to keep her in check Not to keep bones by yourself.

The light novel by the author Shiori Ōta and the illustrator Tetsuo has been published by Kadokawa Shoten under the label Kadokawa Bunko in Japan since 2013 . According to the publisher, the light novel has been sold over 600,000 times (as of February 2015). So far, eight issues have appeared in Japan (as of October 2015).
Adaptations
Manga
A manga adaptation drawn by Tō Mizuguchi has been published since July 4, 2015 (issue 8/2015) in Young Ace magazine at Kadokawa. The chapters have also been summarized in an anthology ( Tankōbon ) so far (as of November 2015) .
Anime
Studio Troyca adapted the work as an anime series with the English alternative title A Corpse Is Buried Under Sakurako's Feet , directed by Makoto Katō . The script for the series was written by Takayo Ikami . The broadcast of the 12 episodes from October 8 to December 24, 2015 after midnight (and thus on the previous TV day ) on Tokyo MX , as well as, with a delay, on KBS Kyōto , Sun TV , Hokkaidō Hōsō , TV Saitama , Chiba TV , TV Kanagawa , Gifu Hōsō , BS11 , Mie TV and TVQ Kyūshū .
Crunchyroll is streaming the series as Beautiful Bones -Sakurako's Investigation- as a simulcast with English subtitles in North and Central America, the United Kingdom, Ireland and South Africa. For the home theater market, it was acquired by Sentai Filmworks in North America . On November 22, 2015, the German publisher Kazé announced the licensing of the anime for the German market with the intention of releasing it at the end of 2016.
The opening title Dear answer comes from the band True , the closing title Uchiyoserareta Bōkyaku no Zankyō ni ( 打 ち 寄 せ ら れ た 忘却 の 残 響 に ) comes from the band Technoboys Pulcraft Green-Fund , which has also composed the entire music for the anime .
