Sam J. Lundwall
Sam Jerrie Lundwall (born February 24, 1941 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish science fiction writer, literary scholar and translator.
Life
The son of a master mechanic and a mother of German descent, Lundwall started writing science fiction stories at an early age (when he was eleven, the Swedish radio broadcast one of his texts). He studied in Stockholm and graduated as an electronics engineer. He worked as a photographer and was the editor of a book series with fantastic content and, from 1972 to 2009, editor-in-chief of the Swedish science fiction magazine Jules Verne-Magasinet . He founded his own publishing house and translated numerous English titles into Swedish, including those by John le Carré , Isaac Asimov , Robert Louis Stevenson , Karel Čapek , Nathaniel Hawthorne , Ken Follett and Philip Roth , but also the autobiography of Bill Clinton .
He also worked as an artist, singer and record producer. In order to be noticed in the English-speaking world, he translates his works written in Swedish into English himself.
In addition to novels and poems, he also published non-fiction books and bibliographies on science fiction literature.
