Saturdayern is a village in the municipality of Richterswil in Switzerland.

geography

The village is separated from Richterswil by the A3 motorway . The population is 3,160 (as of December 31, 2018), and the trend is still increasing. Saturdayern is a street village . In Saturdayern there are also some farms, which are mainly on the outskirts of the village. The remaining houses are built in settlements, for example Grüenfeld, Haslenzopf, Zopfschmitten, Bärenbrüggli and Ribelrain.

Saturdayern is very well connected to the transport network. The Südostbahn (SOB) runs regularly to Einsiedeln , Wädenswil ( S13 ) and Pfäffikon SZ (- Rapperswil SG ) (S40). In the morning and in the evening, individual trains run to Arth-Goldau and Romanshorn . Buses go to Pfäffikon ( Seedamm-Center ) and Richterswil. The latter is mostly used by students.

school

There is only one primary school in Saturdayern; the new schoolhouse was completed at the end of 2005. The higher school levels are attended in Richterswil.

church

The Roman Catholic Church of St. Mary, built in 2012, is located on Bergstrasse in Saturdayern . It replaced a Marienkapelle from 1938 and is currently (as of 2014) the youngest Roman Catholic church in the canton of Zurich.

In 1995 the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormons) built a parish hall at Schwandenweg 1 and expanded it around 2005.
