The integrated community Schöppenstedt was an administrative community of the following communities with the associated localities:
- City of Schöppenstedt (seat of the joint municipality): Eitzum , Küblingen , Sambleben, Schöppenstedt and Schliestedt
- Dahlum : Large Dahlum and Small Dahlum
- Kneitlingen : Ampleben , Bansleben , Eilum and Kneitlingen
- Uehrde : Barnstorf , Warle , Watzum and Uehrde
- Vahlberg : Berklingen , Groß Vahlberg and Klein Vahlberg
- Winnigstedt : Winnigstedt and Mattierzoll
The integrated community of Schöppenstedt was in the Wolfenbüttel district in Lower Saxony .

Blazon: The coat of arms of the Samtgemeinde shows a shield with a red coat of arms background, on the lower third of which blue waves with a silver-gray boat are depicted. On the boat stands a lion with a steel-blue tongue and steel-blue claws, with a raised right front paw and a curved tail.
Merger with the municipality of Asse
In October 2011 the municipalities of Schöppenstedt and Asse decided to merge. The basis is a future contract with the state of Lower Saxony. The state guarantees the new joint municipality a debt relief, because the merger was completed on January 1st, 2015. The seat of the new joint municipality is Schöppenstedt. It is called the Elm-Asse municipality .
