San Feliciano is a district ( fraction , Italian frazione ) of Magione in the province of Perugia , Umbria region in Italy .

geography

The place is 4 km southwest of the capital Magione and 18 km west of the provincial and regional capital Perugia on Lake Trasimeno . With San Savino there is another district of Magione approx. 2 km southeast of San Feliciano. The place is at 279  m slm and had about 580 inhabitants in 2001.

history

The name of the place is St. Felicianus von Foligno , Bishop of Foligno (* 160 in the district of San Giovanni Profiamma von Foligno, † 249 in Foligno). The first settlements in the local area emerged before the 8th century BC. From 5th to 3rd century BC. The area was inhabited by the Etruscans , after which the Romans left their traces. From the Middle Ages, the place fell under the name of Villa Sancti Filiciani de Lacu to Perugia. The city ​​wall was built in 1407.
