San Juan Pacollo is a town in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
San Juan Pacollo is the largest town in the canton of Rosa Pata in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Chacarilla in the province of Gualberto Villarroel . The village is located at an altitude of 3779 m on the right, southern bank of the Río Desaguadero , which connects Lake Titicaca with Lake Poopó .

San Juan Pacollo is located on the Bolivian Altiplano between the Andes mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east. The climate of the region is a typical daytime climate , in which the mean fluctuation of day and night temperatures is more pronounced than that of the seasonal fluctuations.
The annual average temperature of the region is 8 to 9 ° C (see Callapa climate diagram), the monthly values fluctuate only slightly between 5 ° C in July and a good 10 ° C from November to March. Due to the historically grown population distribution, the region has a high proportion of Aymara population, in the municipality of Chacarilla 97.0 percent of the population speak the Aymara language .
