San Ramón is the third largest city in the province of Chanchamayo in the Junín region , in the Peruvian Central Cordillera in central Peru . At the 2017 census it had a population of 20,033. Ten years earlier the population was 19,041.
Location
The city lies at an altitude of 770 m above sea level at the confluence of the Río Tarma and Río Tulumayo , which unite at San Ramón to form the Río Chanchamayo . West of the city is u. a. the summit of Cerro Toro Huajrashga . The closest city downstream is the provincial capital La Merced , just under 10 kilometers away.
Vicariate Apostolic of San Ramón
San Ramón has been the seat of the Apostolic Vicariate of San Ramón since 1956 .
