Sandra Minnert (born April 7, 1973 in Gedern ) is a former German soccer player . The defender was active in the Bundesliga from 1992 to 2008 and in the national team from 1992 to 2007 . Minnert currently works as a club manager at SC 07 Bad Neuenahr .

Athletic career

Club soccer

Her soccer career began at the age of six at SG Usenborn . In 1989 she moved to TSG Bleichenbach . From 1990 to 1999 she was active at FSV Frankfurt . There she achieved her first successes as German champion and cup winner.

Then she played for one season at Sportfreunde Siegen . Her greatest successes at national level came after moving to 1. FFC Frankfurt . There she was three times champion and cup winner as well as one UEFA Cup winner.

In 2003 she played together with Steffi Jones in the USA in the women's professional league WUSA for Washington Freedom .

From 2004 to 2008 she played for SC 07 Bad Neuenahr , where she was initially a playing assistant coach before she took over his position as an interim solution after separating from coach Dietmar Schacht .

Sandra Minnert won at the Olympic Games in Athens 2004 bronze medal. In 2005 she became European champion with the national team for the fourth time in a row .

Minnert learned the profession of dental assistant . After winning the World Cup in 2003, a street in Minnert's home town of Gelnhaar was named after her. She has been an honorary citizen of the city of Ortenberg since October 11, 2008 - as the first woman ever and the only person alive.

Together with the former German national players Britta Carlson and Renate Lingor as well as the marksman Manuela Schmermund , Minnert was World Cup ambassador for the 2011 Women's World Cup .

On December 1, 2012, she became the club manager of Bundesliga club SC 07 Bad Neuenahr. She was already active as a player for the spa townspeople between 2004 and 2008.

In 2014, Sandra Minnert founded the Sandra Minnert Football Camps & Football Events in Hesse and offers football camps for children and young people.

She has been married to the former handball player Larissa Kuncz since July 25, 2015.
