Sandra Toft (born October 18, 1989 in Gribskov ) is a Danish handball player .
Career
Toft started playing handball with Team Helsinge and joined the Virum Sorgefri club in 2002 at the age of 14. In the summer of 2007, the goalkeeper moved to Team Tvis Holstebro , with whose women's team she played in the second highest Danish league. In 2009 she rose to the top division with Holstebro. In the 2010/11 season she was in the final of the EHF Cup , but lost to league rivals FC Midtjylland Håndbold . In January 2012, Toft injured his knee so badly while training that she was out the rest of the regular season. In the 2012/13 season she again reached the final of the EHF Cup, which Holstebro was able to win this time. In June 2013, Toft had knee surgery, which meant that she had to take a three-month break. In summer 2014 she joined the Norwegian club Larvik HK . From the 2017/18 season she was under contract with the Danish club Team Esbjerg . Toft switched to the French first division club Brest Bretagne Handball in summer 2019 .
Toft made her debut in 2008 for the Danish national team , for which she has so far played 121 internationals. For the first time she took part in the 2011 World Cup with Denmark . With Denmark she finished fourth. Her next tournament participation was the 2012 European Championship . She missed the 2013 World Cup due to illness. At the European Championships in 2014 , she reached seventh place with Denmark. The following year she finished sixth at the 2015 World Cup .
At the European Championships in 2016 , Toft finished fourth with Denmark and was voted the best goalkeeper in the Allstar team.
