Sandrine Brétigny (born July 2, 1984 in Le Creusot ) is a French football player . The striker , who was also a national player until 2013, actually ended her career in the summer of 2017, but returned to league operations at the beginning of 2018 and plays for third division SC Bastia in the 2019/20 season .

Career

societies

Brétigny began her career at FC Lyon and from 2000 played in the first team that competed in Division 1 Féminine . In 2003 she and her team won the cup competition . In the final against Montpellier HSC , she scored the winning goal in the 89th minute to make it 4: 3. In the 2002/03 season she was top scorer in the French league with 26 goals . After the 2003/04 season, the footballers of FC Lyon joined the Olympique Lyon club . With Olympique she won the championship in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and the cup in 2008. In the 2006/07 season she was again the top scorer in the league with the record of 42 goals scored up to and including 2015/16.

For the 2012/13 season, 1. FFC Frankfurt signed Brétigny. A year later she returned to France and joined the Juvisy FCF . After two years without a title win, in which she was often only a substitute, but still scored 21 goals, she accepted an offer from the second division and promotion aspirant Olympique Marseille , where she hoped for a new challenge. There she proved that she has not lost any of her scoring potential when she won against newly promoted Racing Flacé-Mâcon when she scored six goals. At the end of the season, Marseille became second division champions and Brétigny returned to the top division. After a year in which she contributed to the fact that the newcomer took a surprising fourth place, she ended her career as a player first.

Since there was a considerable risk of relegation for Marseille after the first half of the 2017/18 season, it was reactivated in January 2018. In her first league game at HSC Montpellier , she proved her indispensability when she - only substituted 17 minutes before the final whistle - brought her team closer to 2: 3 with two goals. Marseille were relegated in the end, however, and Brétigny joined the second division Grenoble Foot in the 2018/19 season , with whom they even reached the semi-finals in the national cup this season . In addition, she was personally the second best goalscorer in her D2 group with 14 goals. After that year she moved to SC Bastia in Corsica .

National team

In 1999, Sandrine Brétigny played in the French B-youth team at the Nordic Cup under coach Bruno Bini . Between November 2005 and March 2006, she was used in four matches for France's U-21s; Her teammates at the time included Ophélie Meilleroux , Claire Morel , Julie Soyer , Gaëtane Thiney and Lilas Traïkia . On November 22, 2006, she made her debut in a game against Belgium in the French senior team . She was also in the French squad for the 2011 World Cup in Germany , but was only used in one encounter there. Almost two years after her last consideration, coach Bruno Bini brought the attacker back to the A squad for two friendly matches at the beginning of March 2013, albeit only as a “replacement” for an injured colleague, and also replaced her in Rouen against Brazil . Bini also called her to the French EM squad in 2013 without using her at the tournament in Sweden. Brétigny scored nine goals in their 22 full international matches (as of June 29, 2013).
