Sandro Cavegn

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sandro Cavegn (born September 3, 1984 ) is a former Swiss model and former television actor . He was the Mister Switzerland of 2012. Cavegn was elected Mister Switzerland 2012 on August 25, 2012 in the Maag Hall in Zurich .

Cavegn grew up as an only child on Lake Zurich . Since Cavegn's parents come from the canton of Graubünden , he also speaks Romansh .

He prevailed against eleven other candidates in the competition. At the time of the Mister Switzerland election, Cavegn was the deputy managing director of a pizza chain. The promotion of his pizza chain provoked criticism, which included a flyer with a photo and his start number with every pizza delivered and offered prizes of CHF 20,000. There was public speculation that he had obtained such an improper advantage. Jury member Paloma Würth countered that the advertising campaign "did more harm than good, although he didn't need it". Cavegn explained, "In the end, I think it's not about who has the most beautiful body, but who can mobilize the most people, and I managed that."

After his election, Cavegn received advertising contracts as a model ; a first professional photo shoot took place shortly after he was elected Mister Switzerland. He was booked as an ambassador and advertising medium by the Swiss holiday airline Edelweiss Air , among others .

From January 2013 Cavegn was the main actor in the docu-soap Mister Pizza on the private Swiss television channel Joiz . He was on the road as a pizza baker in the docu-soap, delivered and took a look at strange apartments. The election for Mister Switzerland 2013 was canceled for economic reasons, so his term of office ended on August 26, 2013.

Cavegn lives in Rapperswil SG . Cavegn stated in an interview in August 2013 that he wanted to retire into private life after his term in office had expired. At the end of Cavegn's term of office, Swiss television broadcast a half-hour documentary about his year in office in early September 2013 ; Cavegn and Renzo Blumenthal (Mister Switzerland 2005) were compared.
