Sanharib Malki Sabah ( Arabic سنحاريب ملكي صباح, DMG Sanḥārīb Malkī Ṣabāḥ ; * March 1, 1984 in Qamishli , Syria ) is a Turkish - Syrian former soccer player . After moving to Kasımpaşa, he received Turkish citizenship and therefore does not have a quota of foreigners in the Turkish leagues. Since Sabah is the son of a Turkish mother, Sabah was entitled to Turkish citizenship. With the Turkish citizenship he also had to take a Turkish surname and was given the name Sanharib Büyüksal .
career
In the club
Malki played for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise as a youth , where the striker eventually made his way into the first-team squad. From there, after 9 goals in 16 games in the EXQI League , he moved to the Jupiler League for KSV Roeselare during the winter break in 2005/06 for a transfer fee of 15,000 euros. He stayed here for a year and was then transferred to Germinal Beerschot Antwerp in January 2007 . Under coach Harm van Veldhoven he had his most successful season here with 16 goals in the league, the team reached the semi-finals in the cup competition . In August 2009 he moved to league competitor SC Lokeren . In the second half of 2010/11 was loaned to the Greek club Panthrakikos . For the 2011/12 season he moved to Roda Kerkrade in the Netherlands , where his former Antwerp coach van Veldhoven was now working.
In the summer of 2013 he moved to the Turkish Süper Lig at Kasımpaşa Istanbul .
In the national team
Malki has both Syrian and Belgian citizenship. Still, he decided to play for Syria . He made his debut on June 8, 2008 in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup against Kuwait . In his third game, he scored his first goal in the same competition, against the United Arab Emirates .
