Santa Rosa de Lima , officially Município de Santa Rosa de Lima , is a municipality in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina . It is named after Saint Rosa of Lima .
With an area of 202 km 2 - measured in terms of population - it is a small municipality with 2065 (2010). As of July 1, 2018, the Federal Statistical Office estimated the population to be 2137 inhabitants with a population density of 10 people per km². They are called Santarrosenser or Rosa-limenser. The distance to the capital Florianópolis is 120 km.
The place lies on both sides in a river bend of the Rio Braço do Norte , the districts are connected by a bridge. Surrounding places are Rio Fortuna , Anitápolis , São Martinho , São Bonifácio and Urubici . The SC-108 road runs through Santa Rosa de Lima .
Since over 90% of the population are German-Brazilian , German is used as a colloquial language alongside Portuguese, especially among the older population . This is expressed, among other things, in the fact that the parish festival, which takes place every two years in May, is called the Vegetable Festival .
In Santa Rosa de Lima there are efforts to develop ecological agriculture. Since the local elections in 2016, City Prefect has been Salesio Wiemes des Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT) for the 2017 to 2020 term of office .
