Sarah Diane T. Lindsay (born June 8, 1980 in Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames , Greater London ) is a former British short tracker . She took part in three Olympic Games and won two medals at European Championships .

Lindsay has been part of the British national team since 1996. She started for the Aldwych Speed ​​Club and was trained by Nicky Gooch. Lindsay played her first international championship at the 1999 European championship in Oberstdorf . In the all-around competition she reached 16th place. She first reached the top ranks at the 2002 European Championships in Grenoble . In the all-around event, Lindsay was eighth, over 500 m she achieved her best result with fifth place. Lindsay qualified for the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City . Over 500 m she was tenth there, over 1000 m 13th and over 1500 m 24.

In the period that followed, there were initially no top placements. In the 2005/06 season , Lindsay drew attention again. In the World Cup she reached a final over 500 m for the first time. In Turin she started for the second time at the Olympic Games . Over 500 m she qualified for the semifinals and finished eighth. Over 1000 m and 1500 m, however, she was eliminated early. In the 2006/07 season Lindsay won her first medal at an international championship at the European Championships in Sheffield . She won silver in the 500 m and fifth in the all-around competition. In the World Cup she reached the final over 500 m in Heerenveen and came second, it was Lindsay's only podium in the World Cup. Lindsay was seriously injured during the season and was out for almost a year. Nevertheless, she was able to win the European Championship title with the relay at the European Championships in Ventspils in 2008 . In the 2008/09 season , Lindsay achieved her best result at a world championship . In Vienna she was sixth over 500 m.

In her last season 2009/10 Lindsay achieved seventh place over 1000 m at the World Championships in Sofia and sixth place with her teammates at the Team World Championships in Bormio . She took part in her third Olympic Games in Vancouver . She started over 500 m, but was disqualified controversially. She and Jessica Gregg crashed twice at the start of the race after the race was restarted once. After the second fall, Lindsay was taken out of the race as the culprit. British media reported critical of the jury's decision.

After the season, Lindsay ended her active career.
