Sascha Eichmeier (born January 2, 1990 in Cologne ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Sascha Eichmeier played in the youth teams of Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen from 1998 to 2009 . From the end of the 2008/09 season he was used for the reserve team of Leverkusen in the Regionalliga West and was one of the regulars from autumn 2009, but was incapacitated several times due to injuries. Among other things, he missed the entire first half of the 2011/12 season due to a torn cruciate ligament . In summer 2012 he moved to FC Viktoria Köln within the Regionalliga West . A year later he went to Sportfreunde Siegen . Due to his good performance in the first half of the 2013/14 season, in which he scored five goals, he also drew the attention of higher-class clubs. Allegedly second division Dynamo Dresden tried unsuccessfully for him. For the 2014/15 season, the left-back moved to the third division for FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt . He signed a two-year contract with an option for two more years. Shortly before the end of the 2016 winter transfer window, SV Elversberg secured the services of the left-back, but after half a year he returned to his old club Viktoria Köln. He finished the regional league season 2016/17 with the team as champions, but in the promotion games to the 3rd division they failed at FC Carl Zeiss Jena . In the 2018/19 season Eichmeier was again champion of the regional league with Viktoria and rose to the 3rd league. After serious injuries, Eichmeier ended his career after the 2020/21 season, in which he was no longer used due to the injuries.
