Sascha Selke

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sascha January Selke (* 1967 in Hardheim , Baden-Württemberg ) is a German-Austrian film music - composer .

Life

The Selke family moved to Salzburg with Sascha in 1972 , where he began studying musicology, philosophy and art history in 1986, which he completed in 1992 with "distinction".

Subsequently, in cooperation with the Institute for Musicology at the University of Salzburg, he published several early music editions in Selke-Verlag , worked as an editorial consultant for SONY and BMG and received several teaching assignments from the University of Salzburg.

Services

Sascha Selke's work can be divided into two main areas:

  1. Film music
  2. Music concepts as musical interpretations of other data, what he calls self-constructing music .

This includes the “Harmonices Terræ” music concept for Rogner Bad Blumau , which converts geographic measurement data into corresponding (virtual) string lengths and uses this to derive the harmony for the composition of the music to be heard on site. Another example: the evolution sonata developed in collaboration with biologists and geneticists from dialog <> gentechnik , which attempts to transfer genetic information and evolutionary processes into note sequences.
