Satisfaction ( Girls of Summer ) is an American movie from the year 1988 . The girls Jennie Lee (Justine Bateman), May Stark (Trini Alvarado), Billy Swan (Britta Phillips) and Daryle Shane (Julia Roberts) form a music group. After graduating from high school , they go on tour in the stolen van. In order to be able to ride, Jennie works to convince her family, the eloquent Daryle rejects a marriage proposal from Frankie Malloy (Chris Nash). The group is expanded to include the only boy, Nickie Longo (Scott Coffey).

The band performs in a club owned by rock star Martin Falcon (Liam Neeson). He falls in love with Jennie and offers her performances together - on condition that she leaves the band. Meanwhile, Frankie shows up and makes up with Daryle. Now Daryle wants to leave the band, but like the other girls gets into a fight with the owners of the minibus. Then she gets along with her friends.

Reviews and worth mentioning

The film received rather reserved reviews. For example, Hans Messias in “Film-Dienst” 10/1989 wondered sarcastically that a lot could happen in a film without any of it being significant.

Julia Roberts , who was still unknown at the time, played her first major role in “Satisfaction” . During the filming, she fell in love with Liam Neeson , with whom she began a relationship.
