The Saturn Arena is a multi-purpose hall in the Upper Bavarian town of Ingolstadt , intended for use by the ice hockey team of the ERC Ingolstadt has helped build. For ice hockey games, it offers space for up to 4,816 people (2,922 standing and 1,894 seats). For other events, the capacity can be expanded for up to 6,200 spectators. Since October 2005 the hall has also been available for public ice skating. The hall was designed by the architect Horst Haag from Stuttgart .
The operator is Stadtwerke Ingolstadt Freizeitanlagen GmbH - the naming rights are held by Media-Saturn-Holding .

After the old ice rink on Jahnstrasse in Ingolstadt was getting on in years, the locations, scope, possible uses and operators of a new stadium in Ingolstadt were discussed for a long time.
The arena, which was built on the former sports grounds of the pioneer barracks on the Schanz , was opened on October 3, 2003.
