Save the Clock Tower is a post-hardcore band from Launceston , Tasmania , Australia formed in 2010 .

history

Save the Clock Tower was founded in 2010 in Launceston , Tasmania and initially consisted of singer Luke Vaessen, bassist Alex Mcnulty, drummer Owen Broad, and the two guitarists Joel Hallam and Tim Westward. The latter is no longer active in the band and also acted as a background singer .

Just one year after it was founded, the quintet released their debut EP, called Letters , which they wrote themselves . The seven-track EP The Human Condition , released on March 22, 2012, was also financed out of pocket. In June 2013 the band signed a worldwide contract with Bullet Tooth Records . On June 24, 2014, the band released their debut album called Wasteland via the record company. The album was released in Australia and New Zealand on July 4, 2014 via Faction Music , owned by Sony Music .

Between August 7 and 15, 2013, the band toured as opening act for Alesana . At the gig on August 11th in Sydney the group was not booked. In total, the quartet played six shows during the tour. Between June 5 and 15, 2014, the band opened for Betraying the Martyrs in Australia. The concert tour included nine concerts, two each of which took place in Melbourne , Perth and Brisbane . At individual concerts, the group could also be seen with Dream On, Dreamer , The Amity Affliction , Bleeding Through and Parkway Drive .

Music genre

The band's sound ranges from hard guitar riffs and melodic passages. The clear vocals are based on the sound of earlier post-hardcore bands. Occasional influences from the Djent movement can also be heard and similarities to Haste the Day can be heard at times.
