Saving Santa (Original title: Saving Santa ) is a British computer animation film from 2013. Directed by Leon Joosen and Aaron Seelman .

action

Bernhard is a particularly clumsy elf and works for Santa Claus . He couldn't imagine anything better for his life and so one day he learns Santa's secret, how he manages to travel around the world in one evening and distribute the gifts. There is a time machine on Santa's sleigh, which makes it possible to be in several parts of the world at the same time.

Since the evil Nevil Baddington has long wanted to solve this riddle, he sets off for the North Pole with his mother Vera and an army of warriors. There they want to capture Santa, which Bernard can prevent, but the villains manage to steal the time machine. Together with a reindeer, he makes his way through time to find the lost sled and the time machine and to bring it back.

criticism

Critics at Kino.de rated: “A likeable British animated film, in which the Disney roots of the makers come to bear not only in convincing CGI , but also in catchy songs. A typical Christmas story for the younger ones, whose time travel element reminds adult viewers of classics like 'Groundhog Day' and 'Back to the Future'. "
