Scarlett Werner (born November 21, 1984 in Munich as Scarlett Kotschwara ) is a German tennis player who lives in Berlin and competes in the 1st women's division for TC Rüppurr Karlsruhe .

Career

So far she has won five individual tournaments and seven tournaments of the ITF with changing partners . In her first career, Scarlett Werner was already seen as a child prodigy and possible successor to Steffi Graf . She made her debut at the French Open at the age of thirteen, at Wimbledon at fourteen and at the US Open at fifteen. At the age of 16 she made her debut with the German Fed Cup women under selection chief Markus Schur . In 2002 Scarlett Werner had to undergo emergency surgery after a ruptured appendix at the beginning of a tournament in Acapulco and barely escaped with his life. She was 17 years old at the time. In February 2003 she announced her retirement from professional tennis and shortly thereafter began studying medicine.

In 2009 she started her second career and celebrated several tournament victories on the ITF Tour in 2010 and 2011 . On October 31, she reached her highest world ranking position in individual with position 277. She has not played a professional tournament since October 2011 and has not been in the world rankings since the end of 2012.
