Schäffer (doctor's family)

The family Schaffer (also Schaeffer ) is a Regensburger of doctors and scholars gender that originally from Querfurt came. Since Jacob Christian Schäffer brought his brother Johann Gottlieb Schaeffer over to support him after the early death of his father, the family centered in Regensburg. Individual members of the sex acquired personal nobility . At the request of his grandfather, Gottlieb August Herrich took on the name Schäffer in 1821. These adopted him his grandfather.
