Schönbrunn is a district and district of the independent city of Landshut . Until 1972 it formed an independent municipality.

location

The actual Schönbrunn is located in the east of Landshut on the right bank of the Isar . In addition to Schönbrunn itself, the Schönbrunn district includes the districts of Attenkofen, Haag, Kranzed, Lurzenhof, Schweinbach, Seethal and Unterschönbach.

history

In 1687, Elector Max Emanuel elevated the Schwaighof, built in 1667 by landscape secretary Johann Bernhard Pockmayr, to a noble seat by decree . The court march seat Schönbrunn with lower jurisdiction is not mentioned in the conscription from 1752, but only in the Hofanlagsbuch from 1777. The Hofmark only included the town of Schönbrunn with five properties. In the course of the regional court reorganization of 1803, the seat came to the regional court of Landshut. After the formation of the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1818, the municipality of Schönbrunn in the Landshut district court emerged from the Hofmark. In addition to Schönbrunn, it included the parish village of Schweinbach, the village of Lurzenhof and the desert areas of Attenkofen, Haag, Kranzed, Mühlhof, Seethal, Unterschönbach and Voglheerd. The community then belonged to the Landshut district office formed in 1862, and from 1939 to the Landshut district . On July 1, 1972, the municipality of Schönbrunn was incorporated into the independent city of Landshut as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . A large part of the district is now occupied by the Landshut-Schönbrunn Agricultural Education Center , which emerged from the Lower Bavarian agricultural school Landshut-Schönbrunn , which was founded in 1854.
