The Schönbrunn Palace is a listed former Hofmark Palace in the eponymous district of Landshut . Today it is an inn with a hotel .

history

The former Zierlmühle was acquired and demolished in 1667 by the landscape secretary Johann Bernhard Pockmayr. Pockmayr had a castle built on the site, which was declared a court marque by Elector Max Emanuel by decree in 1687. In 1690 this was acquired by the Counts of Maxlrain zu Hohenwaldeck . During the 18th century the owner of the castle changed frequently. Among them were high secular officials, the Maltese and the Jesuit orders and up to the 19th century the Counts of Toerring and the Counts of Preysing .

The bar began as early as 1788 by the simple farmer's son Johann Hilz, and in 1826 the bar received the so-called Tafernrechtigkeit, which made it a full-fledged inn. From 1905 to 2009 the business was run by several generations of the Obermeier family, who from 1911 also owned the buildings. The tavern has belonged to Augustiner-Bräu Wagner KG since 2009 .

description

The main building is a stately, two-storey hipped roof building with ten window axes, the core of which dates from the second half of the 17th century. On the first floor there is a now subdivided hall with ceiling frescoes on the topics of fruit growing, agriculture, horticulture and trade, which have only survived in fragments. On the same floor there is also the baroque palace chapel, which was established in the 18th century. To the west of the main building is a barn with a gable roof , which is also used today for gastronomy and was built in the 19th century. The large beer garden in the rear area is surrounded by a walled enclosure in brick construction, which contains several wall recesses and segment-arched openings.
