Palais purlins

The Palais Pfetten , now the Hotel Goldene Sonne , was first erected around 1400 and is part of the historic old town of Landshut .

history

It was built by Johann Ignaz Freiherr von Pfetten. After the building was built around 1400, guests are said to have been accommodated during the Landshut wedding in 1475. The core of today's building dates from around 1700.

In 1802 the palace was sold by Johann Ignaz Freiherr von Pfetten to councilor Xaver Fahrmbacher, who set up the “Zur Goldenen Sonne” inn there with overnight accommodation. Around 1920 this was taken over by the Baier family. Hotel guests since 1802 include Max I of Bavaria , Angela Merkel , Gerhard Schröder and Karl Marx .

description

The three-storey gabled house has seven window axes and a curved bent gable with attached volutes . The core of the building dates back to around 1700, but was structurally changed between 1876 and 1881.
