The Königsfeld Palace is a former seat of the noble family of the same name in downtown Landshut . The building is located near the Palais Pfetten and right next to another former aristocratic palace ( Neustadt 515 ). The adjacent Königsfeldergasse is named after the former residents .

history

The building was rebuilt around 1745 in the Baroque style. From the middle of the 16th century until 1790 it was owned by the Königsfeld family that gave it its name. A note in a cadastre from 1808 that mentions a private chapel is interesting. According to a register from the diocese of Freising, this Trinity Chapel was already occupied by a chaplain in 1540. On April 29, 1945 the building was hit by an aerial bomb and badly damaged. In the following years it had to be largely rebuilt. Today it is used as a residential and commercial building.

description

The three-storey palace with five window axes on the corner of Königsfeldergasse had to be largely rebuilt after the Second World War, but has a facade with a baroque volute gable from the 18th century. An aedicule with a figure of the Mother of God is placed on top of this.

The building is a former monument of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation .
