Schönbuch clearing

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The so-called Schönbuch glade is a region north of the Schönbuch Nature Park in Baden-Württemberg . The places Altdorf , Hildrizhausen , Holzgerlingen , Weil im Schönbuch , Schönaich , all districts of Böblingen and Dettenhausen , district of Tübingen are located on the Schönbuch clearing, to which the Filder plain connects further north .

Already in Celtic times , the Schönbuch clearing was likely to have been largely cleared. Here, north of the Schönbuch, built from Keuper , are the lowest layers of the Black Jurassic above the Keuper layers. On this layer was in the ice age again loess which fertile soil deposited emerged. That is why the forest was cleared very early in order to cultivate arable land.

The term Schönbuchlichtung is not always used in a uniform way, sometimes the places Waldenbuch and Steinenbronn in the east and Ehningen , Gärtringen and Nufringen in the west are included.
